Server list, properties and the map in the browser
How your Minecraft server appears in the server list (message, colours, icon), every setting of server.properties without a file editor, and a map such as BlueMap or Dynmap at an address of its own with HTTPS.
The Server list and Properties tabs exist for every Minecraft server except a proxy. You set up the map in the browser in the Network tab. The server reads all of this when it starts: after saving, the page offers Restart now.
The server list
At the top is a preview, the way players see your server in the game before they join. Below it you set:
- Templates: ready-made messages with your server's name; a second click changes the colours, and afterwards everything can be edited.
- The message itself, two lines: colours and formats with the buttons or typed as codes, such as
&6for gold or&lfor bold. A Gradient colours the selected text or the line. If a line is too wide, the page says where the game cuts it off. - Full colours in gradients show on Spigot, Paper and their forks; Vanilla, Fabric and Forge know only the 16 basic colours, and the preview rounds the way the game does.
- Maximum players at once: 1 to 1000.
- Server icon: any image, which we crop to 64 × 64 pixels. If you like, it is also the server's image in your account and stays in step with it.
Properties
The Properties tab shows the settings from server.properties for the version that is running, in groups and with a search (in plain words or by key, such as “view distance” or view-distance). The small i next to a setting explains its values and default.
- Only what you change is changed; comments and unknown lines stay. If a value was changed in the file meanwhile, the page does not overwrite it and says so.
- Port, IP address and query port are Set by us: they follow your server's address and are written at every start. Another value would make the server unreachable.
- The message and player count are under Elsewhere and lead to the server list.
- The page does not show passwords such as
rcon.password; left empty, they stay as they are. - If you know the file, Edit the file directly opens it in the file manager.
Map in the browser
In the Network tab, the map of BlueMap, Dynmap, squaremap or Pl3xMap gets an address of its own under goodflare.me, with HTTPS and without a port. Your players simply open it in the browser.
Install the map plugin under Plugins and start the server once so it creates its settings.
Press Map in the browser and choose a name. The portal gives the map one of your server's ports, writes it into the plugin's settings and creates the address.
Restart the server: the map reads its port at start. The page then checks whether the port and the address answer; DNS and the certificate take a few minutes.
- Up to 2 web addresses per server. Names follow the same rules as free names.
- Other web interface gives any other service that speaks HTTP on an extra port (such as a bot dashboard) such an address. In other games the section is called Web address and offers just that.
- BlueMap only draws the map once you agree to downloading Minecraft's textures in
plugins/BlueMap/core.conf(accept-download: true). That is your decision. - When you remove an address, the portal frees a port it created for the map.
