Crossplay: Bedrock players with Geyser
Players on Minecraft for phones, consoles or Windows join your Java server. The portal sets up Geyser and Floodgate in one click, without an extra port.
Geyser translates between Bedrock and Java, Floodgate lets Bedrock players in without a Java account. You turn both on in the Bedrock crossplay card at the bottom of the Plugins (or Mods) tab.
A pure Bedrock server without Java is a product of its own: Minecraft Bedrock.
Turning it on
Open the Plugins tab and the Bedrock crossplay card in it.
Press Turn on. The portal downloads Floodgate and Geyser, checks the port and configures Geyser.
Restart the server. Geyser loads at the next start; the card then shows that Geyser is running.
Geyser and Floodgate update themselves from then on. Turning it off moves both to the recycle bin (restorable for 7 days); their settings stay.
What Bedrock players enter
Bedrock uses the same port as Java: Java over TCP, Bedrock over UDP. So no port is added. The card shows the IP address and port under Address for Bedrock.
In Minecraft (Bedrock): Play › Servers › Add Server, then enter the address and port separately. Bedrock does not read SRV records; anyone using your own domain always enters the port as well. Bedrock players appear in the game with a dot before their name.
If query is switched on for the server's port, the portal switches it off, because Bedrock needs that UDP port.
Where it works
- Paper, Purpur and Folia.
- Fabric and NeoForge, as long as Geyser already supports your Minecraft version.
- Velocity: Geyser and Floodgate then run on the proxy, the servers behind it need nothing.
It is not possible with Forge (there is no Geyser for it), Quilt, Arclight and Youer, Vanilla and your own server file. For Forge and the others, a Velocity proxy in front of the server works, or switch to Paper under Version.
