Settings per game: ARK, Project Zomboid, Satisfactory, DayZ, Terraria, Palworld, Valheim
What each game's own tabs do: game rules and maps, worlds and saves, mods from the Steam Workshop and other sources. Almost everything applies from the next start.
Besides console, files and backups, every game has tabs of its own. Their forms change only what you change: comments and unknown entries in the files stay, and if a value was changed on the server meanwhile, the page does not overwrite it and says so. The small i next to a setting explains what it does. The games read their settings when they start; after saving, the page offers Restart now.
ARK: Survival Evolved
- Game rules: map (with the memory it needs and whether players need a DLC), server name, password and player count, plus rates, breeding, world, play style and limits. Presets: Official, Relaxed 3× and Boost 10×.
- ARK writes its settings back itself when it shuts down. So while the server runs, the button says Save and restart: stop, write, start.
- Mods: from the Steam Workshop by link, mod ID or whole collection, up to 60, with a load order. The server downloads them when it starts. When a mod is removed, its structures, items and creatures disappear from the world at the next start.
- Every map has its own save; switch back and the old one is there again.
Project Zomboid
- World: server (name in the server list, player count, password, who may create accounts, PvP), safehouses and the world as in the game's sandbox menu, with presets.
- Version: the current version, Build 41 for older mods, the Build 42 preview or a fixed build. The switch stops the server, makes a backup if you like, downloads the version and sets Java to fit your plan. A Build 41 world does not run under Build 42: it is set aside and back when you switch back.
- Mods: Workshop links, IDs or collections; if an item holds several mods, you choose which load. Load order with Sort by dependencies, plus the maps from mods.
Satisfactory
- Server Manager: a new server is set up here, with a server name and admin password, without the certificate question in the game. If it was already set up in the game, the portal connects with its admin password.
- Saves: upload (a
.savup to 512 MB), download, load, delete, Save now and Load at start. Satisfactory does not save by itself when it stops; Save and stop does both. - Server options such as pausing without players and the save interval, name, join password and access.
- Advanced Game Settings mark the running save permanently as a creative save; it then earns no achievements in the game. This cannot be undone.
- Mods from ficsit.app, matching the server's game build; dependencies are resolved along with them. With Update mods on restart every start checks for newer versions and updates them after a safety copy; if the server then crashes repeatedly, we restore the copy. Mods your players need too must then be updated by your players as well.
DayZ
- Server: the settings of
serverDZ.cfgas a form (name, passwords, player count, perspective, time, whitelist, BattlEye and more) and the map frommpmissions, with the DLC players need for it. Every map has its own world. - Mods: from the Steam Workshop by link, ID or collection; whatever a mod needs is offered along with it. For all players (players need them too) or On the server only, such as admin tools. The portal copies the mods' keys into the
keysfolder, or the server turns away players with these mods.
Terraria
- Worlds: create new ones with size, difficulty, evil biome, secret world and seed, upload (
.wld, with tModLoader its.twldtoo), load, download, delete. - Configuration: player slots (1 to 255), password, language and the server's other settings.
- Server type: Vanilla, TShock (accounts, groups, permissions, bans, plugins) or tModLoader (mods, runs on Terraria 1.4.4). The switch makes a backup if you like and takes worlds and settings along. tModLoader does not load worlds from 1.4.5; their files stay for switching back.
- Mods (tModLoader only): from the Steam Workshop or as a
.tmodfile. Every player needs tModLoader with the same mods.
Palworld
- World: the settings of
PalWorldSettings.iniin groups, with a search and the presets Relaxed, Standard and Demanding. If the file does not exist yet, Create with defaults creates it. - The server writes address, port and RCON itself at every start; they show as Set by us. Values it overwrites the same way are saved by the page as startup parameters.
- Under Technical you switch on Palworld's REST API, which the Players tab works best with. Its port is then reachable from the internet, protected by the admin password.
Valheim
- Worlds: create new ones, upload your own (an archive with the world folder or
.dband.fwl, for example fromworlds_local), switch, download, delete. - World rules: preset, combat, death penalty, resources, raids, portals and four more rules. They apply from the next start to the world the server then loads.
- Crossplay: Players on all platforms or Steam only. With crossplay, players can also join with a join code; it is on the page once the server reports it and is usually a new one after a restart. Players on consoles cannot load mods.
- Mods from Thunderstore need BepInEx. If your server still runs without it, press Request BepInEx; we switch it over, world and settings stay.
Before bigger changes, or switching the version or server type: make a backup. Where the page offers it, that is a tick in the same step.

- Players: whitelist, operators, bansIn the Players tab you see who is on your game server and manage the whitelist, operators and bans without typing commands. Plus player statistics: when your server is busy.
- Create and restore backupsA backup saves all of your game server's files. How to create one, restore it in full or file by file, what is backed up automatically every night, what the safety copy before risky changes is, and where backups are kept.
- Rust: plan wipes and plugins with Oxide or CarbonYour Rust server wipes on a plan, announced in chat and with a backup first, or right away by hand. Plugins run on Oxide (uMod) or Carbon; switching between them takes a few steps.
