Balance and paying in advance
Top up a balance that pays orders, renewals and add-ons, and choose for each server: renew automatically or pay in advance.
Your balance is under Invoices, Balance. It automatically pays renewals, plan changes and add-ons before anything is charged to your payment method, and at checkout new orders too.
At checkout
If you have a balance, the checkout shows Use balance, already switched on. If the balance covers the order, you pay all of it from there, without a payment method. If it covers part, it is used first and you pay the rest with your payment method; at least €0.50 goes through the payment method, as the payment service accepts no less. Nothing is taken until you press Order with obligation to pay. If the order is not paid after all, the amount comes back to your balance. The invoice shows what the balance paid; after a withdrawal the refund goes to your payment method first, up to what it paid, and the rest to your balance; the share for the time already used is thus taken from the balance part first.
Top up
Under Top up choose an amount: €10, €25, €50 or €100, or your own from €5 to €500.
Pay through Stripe. No payment method is saved.
You get a top-up receipt by email and on the page. It is not an invoice; the invoice comes when the balance pays for a service.
A direct debit or bank transfer shows as on its way until it arrives. In total you can hold up to €1,000 in balance.
Automatic or in advance
For each server you choose the payment mode, for all at once or one by one:
- Automatic
- At the end of the term the balance is used first, the rest is charged to your default payment method.
- Prepaid
- Nothing is charged. The invoice comes 7 days before the term ends, with a reminder 3 days before and on the due date. If it stays open, the server is stopped 3 days after it is due.
Without a saved payment method, every server is paid in advance. With Charge the rest automatically the portal pays the part of a prepaid server's invoice the balance does not cover from your payment method on the due date.
Low balance notice
Under the low balance setting you set a limit in euros (€5 by default, 0 turns it off). When the balance drops below it, we let you know.
Cost alert
Under Cost alert you enter an amount. It counts every invoice issued in the current calendar month (minus credit notes), plus the renewals still due before the month ends that have no invoice yet. If the sum is above it, a message comes once a month: in Notifications and on the channels you chose under Notifications, not by WhatsApp. An empty field turns the alert off. Only the account's owner sets it.
Good to know
- The balance is only for GoodFlare services and cannot be transferred.
- There is no payout button. If you would like unused balance back, write us a ticket.
