Vikunja as a ready app
Tasks and projects for you or your team, as a list, Kanban board, table or Gantt chart, run and updated by us: sign in, create a project, bring in your team.
First steps
Sign in
Open the address from the Overview, such as
tasks-….goodflare.me, and sign in asadminwith the password from First login, which can be shown exactly once.Create your first project
Tasks live in projects. You show each project as a list, Kanban board, table or Gantt chart, whichever fits.
Add tasks
A task can get a due date, a reminder, labels and someone assigned to it.
Bring in your team
Sign-up starts switched off. Switch on Open sign-up under App settings and your people create an account themselves; the app restarts briefly for it. Then share projects with them or with a team, and switch sign-up off again once everyone is in. A project can also be shared by link, for people without an account.
Password
You set a new password for admin under App settings with Set a new password; you see the new one exactly once. Vikunja sends no mail with us: “Forgot password” does not arrive, and every account changes its password itself in Vikunja's settings.
Updates and backups
We keep Vikunja up to date. Before every update we make a safety copy and check afterwards that the app answers; otherwise we restore the copy. A backup with projects, tasks and attachments is made every night; under Backups you make more, download them or restore them.
Good to know
- Vikunja's Pro features (such as time tracking and the admin area) need a licence from the project and are off.
- Without mail there are no reminders by mail either; you see reminders in Vikunja itself.
- Attachments count towards your app's storage (3 GB).
- This app has no files, console or startup parameters: we run it, you use it.
- You are responsible for the content you and your team save; our terms apply here too.
- Vikunja is open source (AGPL-3.0-or-later) and runs unmodified with us.
