linkding as a ready app
Your bookmarks in one place, with tags and search, run and updated by us: sign in, connect the browser extension, import bookmarks, add more accounts.
First steps
Sign in
Open the address from the Overview, such as
links-….goodflare.me, and sign in asadminwith the password from First login, which can be shown exactly once.Save a bookmark
You add a bookmark in linkding with the page's address; linkding fetches title and description itself, and you add tags.
Connect your browser
The browser extension or the bookmarklet saves the page you are on in one click (see below).
The browser extension
linkding has an extension for Firefox and Chrome. In its options, enter the address from the overview with https:// and the API token linkding shows under Settings › Integrations. You also find the bookmarklet there, for browsers without the extension.
Bring your bookmarks
Export your bookmarks in the browser as an HTML file and upload it in linkding's settings under import. The same way you export from linkding again, for another browser for instance.
More accounts
Every account has its own bookmarks. As admin, you add more accounts in the administration at /admin; there is no sign-up for anyone. You set a new password for admin under App settings with Set a new password; you see the new one exactly once.
Updates and backups
We keep linkding up to date. Before every update we make a safety copy and check afterwards that the app answers; otherwise we restore the copy. A backup with bookmarks, tags and accounts is made every night; under Backups you make more, download them or restore them.
Good to know
- Archived pages and preview images count towards your app's storage (2 GB).
- linkding sends no mail; as
admin, you reset another account's forgotten password at/admin. - This app has no files, console or startup parameters: we run it, you use it.
- You are responsible for the content you and your accounts save; our terms apply here too.
- linkding is open source (MIT).
